I just wrote about this this morning on another Substack. I’m so very disappointed at how easily they ‘obeyed in advance“ and bent to the powers of authoritarianism. It didn’t take long for the freedom of the press to crumble in a CYA move at Mira Lago. I feel betrayed. You could tell it was a very uncomfortable on the set w the other journalist, contributors. I think they were all deeply disappointed and in shock At this revelation. Wow didn’t take long did it?

They sold us out.

MKA's avatar

Yes, they did!

You feel betrayed, of course, but in reality tis’ not actually a betrayal. ‘’Get to know what your enemy plans to do, before you take action against him”

I’m seriously beginning to wonder if I will ever wake up in the morning over the next four years and beyond without feeling frustration, anger, depression, existential dread, or a combination of all of the above. One thing I’ve got to say, and I’m really sorry for saying it, but Gen Z really let me down, particularly the guys. I’ve been expecting Gen Z to start us back to the land of sanity, but a lot of the guys seem to have swallowed the swill that Musk and Rogan and whomever else were selling. Amazingly disappointing.

You're not alone..with you on all fronts.

IT is NOT OVER…. Take deep breaths, nice walks, anger is definitely what we feel, don’t let it settle in your mind for long. Something is in the works..

I hate to tell you but the ongoing attacks on reality by Trump and the MAGAts have been so sustained for so long that they’ve become normalized. This is the new state of our politics. I hope something will happen to improve our situation but I’m not betting on it.

Joe and Mika have no shame. Bowed the knee, groveling at MAL. Not going to watch or listen to them.

What difference do they think they will make? They are just going to promote the policies of Trump? I hope the other MSNBC hosts express their disappointment in both of them. There are enough other media outlets that will tell us what Trump has to say.

Stephanie Gibbs Dunlap's avatar

They are not the owners of that station.

Do not abandon them, MSNBC, is the only station that respects the truth.

Do you wish to lose that? And be stuck with the corporate corruption >

Fox LIES ? OAN, News max? etc..

Julie Blanchard's avatar

That’s not true, there are many sources of credible coverage that don’t rely on corporate money. I.e. the Midas touch on YouTube.

The Bulwark, Brian tyler Cohen also on YouTube, and right here on Substack, you’ll get a ton of good and relevant information. It just won’t be in the format you’re used to.

Stephanie Gibbs Dunlap's avatar

Of COURSE! And So thankful for that - Truth and Joy! To find common ground,

and work together, to SAVE “AMERICA! IF> We can keep it.”. My POINT was MSNBC is the best of MSM. . .

They showed weakness and cowardice- bent the knee, kissed the ring just like Bezos/Amazon. So how does anybody ever again trust what they say? How do I know that they won’t now shade the news, or later decide not to report a story, afraid of getting in “trouble” with TFG? Next step is taking direction from Trump when he wants to plant a story. They just lost a viewer - just like Washington Post lost a subscriber (cancelled) and Amazon (not one penny since he caved, no orders and cancelled subscriptions) lost a customer.

Why are you surprised. They are both Republicans although they are sane and reality based. The reality is Trump is going after Journalists and they are protecting themselves. I've enjoyed their broadcasts but know who they are. Joe was a Republican Congressman. Mika is a Democrat but goes along with Joe mostly.

Stephanie Gibbs Dunlap's avatar

Well said! Joe and Mika know what they’re doing. They do not support Trump, they want to know the enemy, and his plans. Anger is understandable

General’s research the enemy before they attack.

They are some that promoted tRump in 2016 and sanewashed him into office the first time.

So, in other words, like you said, like everyone else in the corporate media, they capitulated and decided to go kiss his ass. Well, from now on as far as I am concerned, their show is now being sent to the garbage bin with WaPo and the NYT I feel sick to my stomach at their hypocrisy.

Shameful! Oh they didn’t see eye to eye on everything? Give me a break. How many meals did they share with the Orange Fascist while reaching the conclusion that he wants to work with the Democrats? They just want continued access to him by obeying in advance.

❤️ Dash. But what I have yet to see from anywhere.. unless I missed it.. are viable suggestions on how to resist. Civil disobedience comes to mind, we have so many people warning of us of what’s to come, but we need to organize somewhat.

Dash Dobrofsky's avatar

Not sure the path yet, but it’s definitely not flying out to MAL to kiss the ring! Thx

You are so accurate. Supplication is definitely not good.

I am mad 😡 as hell !!! Betrayed!!!

Stephanie Gibbs Dunlap's avatar

Don’t be, there is more there than meets the eye. Don’t abandon the one station MSNBC, that is truthful.

These two people are disgusting.

Sher''s avatar

I'm NOT suprised.
