Why The Press Must Refuse To Air Trump's Speech Tonight
If the press has any integrity left, they will all refuse to air tonight’s Orwellian speech
Trump is planning to deliver a televised speech tonight in which he will falsely claim the 2020 election was stolen from him (yes, he is still harping on this).
He will also:
Falsely allege that China interfered in the election (no evidence)
Falsely allege Georgia’s election was rigged against him (no evidence, he himself was criminally charged for trying to rig the election for him and Rs)
Falsely claim voting machines switched votes from him to Biden (no evidence, Fox was sued $787M by Dominion Voting Systems for repeating this defamatory nonsense)
Falsely claim that the 2026 midterms are rigged (only if Republicans lose, of course).
A.k.a. the same bullshit as before.
However…
It is imperative that news networks do not air his speech tonight. Because, if you think about it, Trump will essentially be doing the bidding of Russia, China, and Iran.
The main way foreign adversaries interfere in our elections is by spreading disinformation about our electoral process. They try to manipulate the public by casting doubt about the legitimacy of US elections through propaganda. *Ironically, the same thing that Donald Trump has been doing since he stepped on the political scene.*
And…
I also believe Trump is doing this to set the stage for cracking down with severe voter suppression tactics ahead of the ’26 midterms—like armed MAGA guards at voting sites, removing ballot boxes in majority-minority neighborhoods, tampering with mail-in ballots, etc.
If he can gin up enough hysteria about his election lies, he can use it to justify implementing extremely autocratic measures—all under the guise of ‘election security’.
(He’s going to implement autocratic measures regardless, but refusing to air the speech limits his reach).
Bottom line
Trump intends to use the media’s addiction to him to amplify election lies through their airwaves. In return, they score high ratings from airing his insanity, and he gets to advance his fascist agenda, free of charge.
This has been the unspoken agreement between them since he’s been in power.
If the press has any integrity left, they will all refuse to air tonight’s Orwellian speech.
I don’t have much faith, but the least I can do is sound the alarm.
Absolutely right Dash. None of the media should give him any airtime or oxygen. He lies to and insults the country, he scaremongers and he makes a fool of himself in front of the world. He’s odious, vile and an international disgrace and embarrassment.
If the does media air it, they should at least fact check it in real time, including sources. That would cover up at least part of the video with facts instead of lies.
