Dash gives his take on why Pete Buttigieg may be the optimal VP candidate for Kamala Harris to select as her running mate in order to beat Donald Trump in the November election.
Fed. Congressman Emmanuel Cleaver (D) - Missouri (District 5: KC and Jackson/Clay Counties) was on #Fox-noise with “Neil Cavuto” this weekend defending President-elect #Harris against #BLM-claims?
And, you still think #Kamala’s appointment by #Joe isn’t ironclad proof we’ve finally undergone the long awaited “pole shift” so many astronomers have been predicting for decades now?
Well, here it is folks! But, you gotta remember … In times like these, there is still only one way “up!” … “See you at the top!” ~ Zig Ziglar
I'm here in PA, and he's a good Governor, but his support for vouchers, and his strong support fo Israel is not going to help him in national office, and all those youth points that Harris picked up over Biden over Palestine will be at risk with Shapiro. Buttogieg, or even Beshear, would be safer picks.
Yes, there are a lot of hopeful VP picks; yet, I agree with you that Buttgieg stands out. He is a great communicator. I'm thrilled to hear there are others who feel similarly!
But they’re not voting for the ticket no matter who the VP choice is so why should we care?
They’re already having trouble holding back the racism and sexism they wish to wallow in. Making them have to hide their homophobia would break most of them.
I love Pete. I think what he lacks in political experience, he makes up for with professionalism and intelligence and a demonstrated deep love for the country.
But he does lack political experience. I'd like to see him be an important cabinet member in Kamala's administration but not VP. Not yet.
I listen to a lot of political podcasts. When doing Veep sweeps it's always: Mayor Pete…he's gay…Widmer…can't have two women…Shapiro…Jewish. I mean, what the hell? We're limiting ourselves for a couple of undecided voters in a couple of swing States. 🤬
If Pete serves two terms as veep followed by two terms as POTUS, on January 20, 2023, when he leaves office he’ll be younger than any of the other names being mentioned aside from Andy Beshear are today.
Buttigieg would be fantastic— he’s young, brilliant, non-condescending, a veteran, a family man, and good at everything he does. That said— for this particular case, I think Mark Kelly would be a better choice— as he was/is a NASA astronaut, a senator in an important swing state, and he’s married to former U.S. Representative Gabby Giffords, who miraculously survived a bullet through her brain from a deranged assailant during a outdoor appearance. Her entire journey has been documented and shared with the media and she is very active in sensible gun control action groups… Great people, great life stories, non-partisan public service histories, swing state trust..
Buttigieg has a long and exceptional career in politics ahead of him, but being Kamala’s VP pick at this time wouldn’t be the strongest choice (in my opinion)…
Good point… though I’m unsure who wouldn’t draw some of the direct attention off Kamala Harris. Furthermore, why would she pick a contender who isn’t interesting in her/his own right?
Completely agree. The VP's job is to sell the administration's policies, and no one can do that better.
I would add the Shapiro will hurt the ticket with young voters…

Pete sells their record like nobody’s business! Shapiro is great, too, IMO.

Why are you only doing audio? Can’t you get an AI transcript and post it as well?
Convincing points. He does have charisma and excellent speaking skills. I'd vote for him, but I'll vote for any Harris ticket.
Likewise.
Convincing presentation.
Congrats.
I agree, and yet, I think the backlash to an openly gay candidate could doom the ticket, sadly.
Mike Murphy was on MSNBC saying it should be Pete. That solidifies it for me that it must NOT be Pete. 🙄
Backlash from who?
Pete is so confident in his own skin that he goes TO Fox News to school MAGAs.
I’m confident that he can take care of the haters.
From whom? JD Vance ‘s part of America. And, sadly, that’s not a small number.

love Pete! great energy, great speaker and absolutely fearless.
let’s go Mayor Pete!

Jeez! A Republican? Did I mishear? You sure as hell don’t sound like a Repub here!

Kelly is a trap.
Not because he wouldn’t be a decent VP, but because the media wants someone to focus on BESIDES Kamala.
They want an excuse to cover an “unknown” which we don’t have time for with 99 days to go.

I’m counting on VP Harris to ignore the punditry’s preference, but you never know how the vetting will go until it’s done.
That’s my pick!! Were are ready for it!! Now’s the time!!
