Harris and Walz find themselves with a solid lead heading into tonight’s VP debate, which will likely be a beat-down of epic proportions.

The numbers

The latest poll from Morning Consult has Harris/Walz leading Trump/Vance 51% to 46%, a 5-point margin.

The Democratic duo also holds a commanding 77% to 19% lead among Black voters — a 58-point margin.

Big gains

This data should give Walz an extra boost of confidence ahead of tonight’s showdown.

Not that he needs it

Walz is skilled at improvisation and speaking off the cuff, which means he can handle any curveball and shut down the inevitable stream of lies from Vance — especially since the moderators won’t be doing any live fact-checking.

Walz practiced for the debate using Pete Buttigieg — one of the best communicators in modern politics — as a stand-in for JD Vance, so it’s safe to assume he’s well-prepared.

Not a good sign for Trump, who’s already alienating female voters all on his own

As if having a running mate who once told women to ‘stay in violent marriages’ squaring off against a pro-choice former football coach wasn’t bad enough, Trump’s latest blunder might push female voters away for good:
