Walz Delivers For Harris, Vance Damages Trump's Chances

Tim Walz did something even better than humiliating JD Vance: he made Kamala Harris and her agenda the star of the debate.

The numbers don’t lie

According to a CBS YouGov poll, Walz handily beat Vance on Abortion by 24%, and 18% on Healthcare — and only lost to Vance by 2% on the economy, and 4% on immigration.

Coming away with a double-digit lead in two categories and a virtual tie on two others is a win.

And Walz crushed it on promoting Harris’ first-term agenda

He explained to voters how Harris’ plan will lower costs for middle/working class Americans, extend the child tax credit, protect women’s reproductive rights, and ensure the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share — which, as he noted, will help everyday Americans “be able to afford the things they need.”

He also went after Trump’s failed first-term economic track record

Walz called out Trump for giving tax breaks to billionaires, for ballooning the national debt, all while correctly noting that Trump lost more jobs than any President since the Great Depression and decimated the manufacturing sector.

Another important part

Walz reminded viewers that Trump still doesn’t have a healthcare plan and accurately blamed Trump for sabotaging the largest border funding bill in American history — which Harris was ready to sign.

In short

The Coach killed it on delivering Harris’ vision for America, and contrasted it against Trump’s grim second-term agenda.

He seemed a tad nervous in the beginning, but just like Harris in her debate, he was on the money for the remaining 97%.

Vance, on the other hand, deflected, dodged, and denied

Though JD was more slick than I anticipated, it’s mainly because he lied about his and Trump’s plans — and gaslit viewers about Trump’s first term.

For example

Vance falsely claimed Trump would not support a national abortion ban, even though Vance is on record calling for one.

Vance also failed to explain what Trump’s healthcare plan was — because as we know — Trump doesn’t have a healthcare plan. He instead pivoted to Obamacare, which he falsely said Trump “salvaged” — which is yet another lie.

Hence why Vance lost to Walz on Abortion and Healthcare by such big margins

As far as the economy, Vance tried to paint Trump’s recession and historic job losses as a time of prosperity. He also tried to portray himself as the grandson of a woman who relied on social security — which Vance and Trump have threatened to take away from seniors.

Furthermore

Vance failed to explain how Trump’s tariff proposals would do anything other than raise costs for everyday Americans — and didn’t deny the fact that he and Trump will give tax cuts to billionaires.

Plus

Vance also claimed that Trump “peacefully gave over power” to Biden, in what was a laughably dishonest statement.

Side note: You can’t incite an insurrection then transfer power peacefully.

In my view

It all came crashing down when Walz asked Vance point-blank:’ “Did Trump lose the 2020 election?”

Instead of answering the question with a resounding ‘no’, Vance dodged the question and smugly said: “I’m focused on the future”, only for Walz to cut back in and say: “That’s a damning non-answer.”

Damning, indeed.

So damning that it gave Team Harris a gem of a clip to use in this morning’s new campaign ad

The Harris Campaign has already cut an ad juxtaposing Vance’s refusal to acknowledge Trump’s election loss at the debate alongside the J6 mob assaulting police officers.

They close out the ad with a powerful one-liner from Walz, who says: “I think you’ve got a really clear choice in this election, on who’s going to honor Democracy and who’s going to honor Donald Trump.”

That choice is one of the main reasons so many Republicans like Dick Cheney, Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Geoff Duncan, and several of Haley’s former campaign co-chairs have crossed party lines.

And the fallout from the debate is an even more troubling sign for Trump/Vance

Not only did Vance double down on the same election lies that are driving away Trump’s lifelong GOP voters, but the fallout from the debate may have also jeopardized Trump’s chances in key states:
