Trump’s Press Secretary Nervously Laughs Off Question About Insider Trading In The White House
Tell me you're insider trading without telling me you're insider trading
Donald Trump's press secretary was asked if anyone inside the White House has been “shorting” the DOW to profit off Trump’s stock market crash.
*By the way: ‘shorting’ means betting that the stock market will drop — making money when stocks lose value instead of gaining it.*
And as you'll see, Karoline Leavitt does not rule out the possibility that administration officials might, in fact, be shorting the DOW.
Reporter: “So you said that the DOW dropping and dropping and dropping is a period of transition. You're sure nobody here at the White House shorted the DOW?”
Leavitt: "nervous/uncomfortable laughter... No... I don't think so..."
An unbelievable response for a White House spokesperson to give from the podium.
How does she let out a suspicious laugh and say she doesn’t think so when asked point-blank if Trump officials are shorting stocks they know will crash because of his tariffs?
Full stop
That reaction alone should warrant a criminal investigation into the entire administration.
It wouldn’t be surprising if they were profiteering off people's retirement savings being throttled by the very administration itself — which, if true, would be nothing short of insider trading.
Of course…
Trump controls the SEC and DOJ, so don’t expect an investigation. But that doesn’t mean we should let it slide.
Democrats should hold hearings, expose the grift, and call it what it is — peak corruption.
Most importantly…
Happy Wednesday, guys! More to come.
I don’t know but it seems to me she has no clue of what “shorted the DOW” means.
What would stop them from taking advantage of this great opportunity to make money off of this situation? The boss hawks cars in from of the White House. Apparently, nothing is off limits with this administration.
