Donald Trump is lashing out at the International Criminal Court and is trying to dismantle it after they issued an arrest warrant for Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump is preparing ‘sweeping sanctions’ against the ICC in an effort to ‘dismantle the institution’ after they issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu.
When I read this report, it struck me as to just how little Trump does for America, and how much he does for Netanyahu (suspiciously, I might add).
Think about it
First, Trump goes to war with Iran on Netanyahu’s behalf. (Netanyahu recently boasted about having ‘successfully influenced’ America into finally taking the threat of Iran seriously).
A war that a majority of Americans oppose and a war that has jacked up America’s gas prices, yet, when Americans complain about gas prices, Trump says he outright “doesn’t think about Americans’ financial situations.”
Then
Trump authorizes a $2.8 billion arms-package with highly-destructive bombs to the Israeli Government in the same week the Fed increased interest rates to tame inflation here (oh the irony). Those bombs will be paid for by U.S. taxpayers who are currently struggling to afford groceries.
Now
Trump’s using America’s financial and global power to dismantle an international court simply for issuing an arrest warrant for a foreign war criminal, instead of using his power to bring down costs at home.
I know criminals like to protect one another, but the level of subservience Trump displays towards Netanyahu makes me need to address the elephant in the room:
