As the fires continue to engulf Los Angeles, causing a reported $50 billion in damages, Donald Trump took to Truth Social to blame Gavin Newsom — and called on him to resign.

“It’s ashes, and Gavin Newscum should resign.”

A real leader would offer to assist Californians and help the victims in need. A real leader would stand in solidarity with Governor Newsom as he works to save LA from immolation.

But Donald Trump is not a leader — he’s a monster

Instead of showing leadership, Trump continued to rail against Newsom through the morning and insulted the entire LA Fire Department for not putting out the biggest fire in our city’s history.

“Fire is spreading rapidly for 3 days — ZERO CONTAINMENT. Nobody has ever seen such failed numbers before! Gross incompetence…LA is a total wipeout!!!”

Imagine being a firefighter and hearing the President-elect dismiss your heroic efforts as ‘failed numbers.’

In my view

This could be the most disrespectful, distasteful, and shameful thing Trump’s done since his reelection.

But Gavin Newsom didn’t take the bait
