A classic good news/bad news situation: Trump’s support among white voters declines but the Orange Sleaze still has the support of 47% of them. (Oh well, it’s great that it’s less than half. Maybe it’ll go even lower. We can only hope!)

The Democrats MUST start playing hardball. Less talk, more action ! God bless Gavin Newsom. He’s the only one willing to fight.

All good news, Gen Z! Need to keep the momentum going in our direction. Any Blue State that can redistrict should do so now. We need to be more proactive and less reactive if we're going to beat them at their own game. Thank you for the positive news. We need more of that.

So agree on Dems strategy. I think there is a way to "play by the rules" they are playing by without losing your your morals and selling your soul to Satan.

Actually they’re not. Democrat approval rating is at historic lows. The Democratic Party is doing nothing to change that. Few, if any, leaders have stepped up. They are doing things to turn off the young, progressive arm of the party by doing things such as shooing away David Hogg (not that I necessarily agree with what he did when he was in his DNC role) and heming and hawing over candidates like Mamdani. The Democratic Party is playing checkers while the Reps are playing chess. “Strongly worded letters” don’t work in this current political climate. Nuclear options should be the only options right now, because you MAY have a little over a year left in this Democracy if we’re lucky.

The only "rule" concerning national elections that Has To Go is the Electoral College. Just can that.

And the GOP obviously doesn’t care about 2026 because they are overtly doing everything in their power to rig the system to only work for them.

NY is also considering redrawing maps. Works for me the more Dems we get the better. Trump and his ilk need to go now. However, our Gov. is not the strongest or sharpest knife in the drawer so we shall see what happens.

If Democrats are going to cheat along with the Republicans, then the ENTIRE system will be completely corrupt. Where’s that at? Democracy will definitely expire.

If Dems don’t gerrymander back, mathematically, they will lose.

I'll give you an analogy: I played Canasta with my sister-in-law The rules I played by said to draw one card. I was losing badly when I noticed her fan of cards was twice as big as mine. I said "why is your hand bigger than mine?" Turns out the rules she had learned, stated you draw two cards. It was mathematically impossible for me to win, since we were not playing by the same rules. Gerrymandering sucks, but is not illegal, in order to have a level playing field you both HAVE to play by the same rules. That is the reality of the situation.
