America’s allies listened to Trump’s deranged press conference about turning Gaza into a real estate project — and they weren’t having it.

Australia speaks out against Trump’s plan

Here’s how Australia’s Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, responded to Trump’s proposal to “take over” Gaza: “Australia’s position is the same as it was this morning, as it was last year, as it was 10 years ago."

Their position being a two-state solution.

Then

Irritated by the question, Australia’s PM told reporters: "I’m not going to, as Australia’s prime minister, give a daily commentary on statements by the U.S. president."

Refusing to entertain Trump’s endless stream of nonsense? Love to see it.

New Zealand speaks out as well

Here’s how New Zealand’s Foreign Ministry responded when asked to comment on Trump’s Gaza plan: “Our long-standing support for a two-state solution is on the record."

Like Australia, New Zealand’s FM said they “won’t be commenting on every proposal that is put forward.”

In a nutshell

Australia and New Zealand oppose Trump’s fantasy of ethnically cleansing Gaza — and made it clear that not every unhinged statement from him is worthy of a response.

Perhaps U.S. media should take a hint.

FBI officials sue Trump’s DOJ to protect their identities

Yesterday, several anonymous FBI agents and officials filed a class-action lawsuit against Trump’s Justice Department to prevent the agency from releasing the names of those who worked on Trump’s Jan 6/classified documents cases.

According to the filing, the anonymous agents fear Trump’s DOJ will ‘exact punishment’ against them as part of a ‘revenge’ campaign.

In my view

The fact that FBI officials — who tried to hold Trump accountable for crimes he committed — are now suing their old agency to shield themselves from ‘retribution’ is a sign of how authoritarian things have become.

Meanwhile

Not only are former federal agents fearing for their safety under Trump, but his administration is now making sure there’s no one left to protect them — or the country:
