Shortly after Trump folded to Mexico and backed down from his tariff proposals, he scrapped his plan to impose tariffs on Canada as well — with seemingly no concessions from Canada.

Though Justin Trudeau announced a ‘new’ $1.3 billion border security initiative, this was already set in motion under Biden’s presidency in 2024.
That’s right. Trump halted his tariffs on Canada in exchange for Trudeau following through on a commitment already made in December — a month before Trump took office.
In other words
Trump got nothing out of this trade war except a Truth Social post falsely taking credit for a deal — while wrecking the US stock market and destroying diplomatic relations with Mexico and Canada.

China announced late last night that it will impose a 15% tariff on U.S. coal and liquefied natural gas, and a 10% tariff on U.S. crude oil, agricultural machinery, and large-engine cars — effective February 10.
They will also launch antitrust investigations into Google and Nvidia — a leading AI chipmaker and hardware company — in an attempt to derail America’s tech sector.

After watching Trump cave on his tariff threats against Mexico and Canada less than a week after announcing them, I imagine he will quickly back down from China as well.
