This Is The Message That Could Win Democrats The Midterms
This shocked me, and if Democrats message it properly, it could win them the midterms
I read this report and immediately got triggered. But then I realized it’s actually a powerful piece of data Democrats can use to message on ahead of the midterms.
According to the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, at least 88 of the largest American corporations paid no federal income tax in 2025.
The below companies (including Elon Musk’s Tesla and Peter Thiel’s Palantir) collectively generated $105 billion in U.S. revenue… and paid $0 in federal income tax.
That’s some creative accounting!
(See list below of each company and how much money they made in ‘25)
Meanwhile, a teacher, nurse, or delivery driver paid anywhere from four to five figures in federal taxes.
This is bonkers
The government slurps thousands from millions of working Americans to raise revenue—while multi-billion dollar corporations avoid paying anything at all.
And…
Not only did these corporations not pay any fed taxes, but most of them actually received money back…a collective $4.7 billion in tax rebates!
Keep in mind
Republicans voted for Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill and 2017 tax cuts, both of which made it easier for corporations—and billionaires—to pay nothing to Uncle Sam by exploiting ‘loopholes’ in the tax code through writing off ‘expenses’, ‘shifting’ profits through subsidiaries, showing ‘losses’, and reducing their taxable income to zero.
‘Creative accounting’ as they call it.
Democrats need to hammer this heading into November
Literally, Democratic candidates should wave this report around at rallies and read down the list of companies one by one and explain to voters how a Dem House/Senate majority can crack down on the corporate/billionaire tax avoidance schemes that are crippling the working class—schemes that were facilitated by provisions in both GOP tax bills.
For what it’s worth, I think Dems are already in a strong position as is. But we can’t underestimate Trump or Republicans’ ability to message their way out of a jam.
To me, this is data that could persuade taxpayers to hit the ballot box in droves. So I am sharing it here. Have a great evening.

It’s Dash!!!!
How is this possible when the Inflation Reduction Act implemented a 15% Corporate Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT)? Something doesn't sound right.
