Republicans Are Handing Democrats A Gift With Trump's $400M Ballroom
Taxpayers are voters, too
Republicans just gave Democrats one of the easiest campaign messages imaginable heading into the midterms.
Last night, Lindsey Graham announced that Republicans are introducing legislation to allocate $400 million from the federal budget (our tax dollars) to construct a White House ballroom, which he claims is necessary for “security” purposes following the Correspondent’s Dinner.
Fun fact
The Correspondent’s Dinner wasn’t even held at the White House. It was held at the Washington Hilton.
So even if there was a ballroom, it would not have prevented the shooter from entering that night.
Another fun fact
Trump bragged in February of 2025 that the ballroom was entirely paid for by private donors, saying: “We did this with no charge to the taxpayer whatsoever. This was all donations by friends of mine and people who love our country, love the White House. Not one penny. And it's very expensive ballroom.”
Side note: Where did all of that money go?
Bottom line
Trump and Republicans campaigned on reducing the cost of living. But how does building a nearly half-billion dollar ballroom reduce the cost of living?’ It doesn’t.
If anything, it increases the cost of living. That money could go toward housing, healthcare, or literally anything that impacts everyday Americans.
At a time where affordability is front and center, $400 million for a ballroom stands out like a sore thumb.
There’s the message.

Was there ever a doubt that taxpayers would be funding the heinous ballroom and we don’t want, and can’t stop? I pray that someone stops it.
He probably really needs this ballroom. He does like to dance, as we’ve seen in the video of him dancing alongside jeffrey epstein.
