After 15 people were declared dead by New Orleans law enforcement, the Republican Governor of Louisiana rushed to social media…to post a picture of himself grinning ear-to-ear outside a high-end rib restaurant in NOLA (he’s the one giving a thumbs-up in the blue jacket).

“Ate dinner tonight in New Orleans. Proud to be a part of this incredibly resilient city. See everyone at the game tomorrow!”

Instead of offering condolences, the GOP Governor decided to flex about his lavish dinner while hyping up tonight’s football game.

I know we’re only two days in, but this could be a contender for the most tone-deaf picture of the year!

Biden gives Liz Cheney & Bennie Thompson Presidential Citizen Medals

Joe Biden awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal to Liz Cheney and Bennie Thompson, who co-led the January 6th Committee.

Both of these individuals did more to hold Trump accountable than our Justice Department, so I’m a fan of this.

Especially Cheney, who quite literally lit her political career on fire to bring Trump down for his crimes.

If anything…

Biden should also grant Cheney a pardon to protect her from Trump and the Republicans in Congress who’ve threatened retribution against her — despite her having not committed any crimes!

Meanwhile, the New Year is off to a truly ‘explosive’ start
