Zohran Mamdani was heckled last night in New York City by pro-Palestine protesters who called him a ‘traitor’ and a ‘sell-out’ for attending a peaceful candlelight vigil memorial service for Jewish victims of the October 7th terrorist attack.
Not only did I find this to be antisemitic, tone-deaf, and disrespectful to the victims family members and friends—who lost loved ones three years ago in a bloody massacre—but I also found it to be utterly nonsensical.
Why are they protesting the NYC Mayor instead of going to the White House and protesting Donald Trump, the President of the United States who dictates foreign policy? Or the Republicans who are in control of every branch of government, and who have given Netanyahu everything he wants—including more arms shipments and a war with Iran?
To agitate and disrupt a memorial service for slain Jewish victims is morally reprehensible and grotesque.
And politically, it makes zero sense.
In fact, I find it odd that these protests only seem to be directed towards Democratic politicians. I distinctly recall protests against Joe Biden, and then Kamala Harris, during the 2024 election. Yet I don’t think we’ve seen a single “free Palestine” protest at any of Trump’s rallies, or at any GOP events, despite them having been in power for nearly two years.
Anyhow
Shameful display of events last night. My heart is with the victims and their families. And to my fellow Jews, I’m sending peace and love. Happy Thursday.

This part of the left is disgraceful and as you pointed out, counterproductive to their own cause, unless peace isn’t part of it. Like how is this kind of behavior helping Palestinians or help attain peace in the Middle East? They are in love with their own outrage. Thanks for this piece, I really appreciate you.
I agree! They should have heckled Netanyahu when he was in NYC for the UN conference.
