It's A Bird, It's A Plane, It's Another Trump Business Failure
Let me start by saying: You’re less likely to lose money with Sam Bankman-Fried than you are by purchasing an NFT of the disgraced Florida retiree.
Niccolò Machiavelli, known as the father of dark politics, argued that the means justified the ends. In his famous publication, The Prince, he claimed: “The crowd is won over by appearances and final results." Is this true in America?
Have we, the crowd, forgiven the Justice Department for allowing Donald Trump to wreak havoc on the nation — all because Democrats won the 2020 election? Have we, the crowd, forgotten the MAGA-induced turmoil we were forced to endure — simply because of an unprecedented 2022 Senate victory?
Here are the facts. Trump’s presence is detrimental to the Republican Party’s chances of reclaiming power. Every time he opens his mouth, he further divides a party in shambles. The longer Trump remains in the spotlight, the more likely it is that Democrats win in 2024. According to a new Quinnipiac Poll (don’t trust the polls) Trump’s approval rating has hit an all time low, coming in at a dismal 31%.
Having said that, his continued presence is a deep injustice to those who believe in equality under the rule of law. His rhetoric is dangerous to a nation that has been divided by the ugly politics he and his lackeys produced. Trump should not be allowed to sell NFTs of himself dressed as a MAGA superhero. Frankly, he should be barred from ever seeing the light of day again for the crimes he committed against America.
The question becomes this: is it worth subjugating ourselves to more crackpot conspiracies, more election lies, and more hate-filled rhetoric — just to increase the Democrats’ odds of winning in 2024? Here’s what I think:
