Harris Thrives With Obama, Trump Makes A Mess In Key Battleground States
Kamala Harris wraps up a monumental week of campaigning with President Obama by her side, as Donald's campaign struggles to connect with voters in the critical final stretch
Kamala Harris is closing out another week of high-octane campaigning, drawing a clear contrast between herself and Trump while hitting the right messaging heading into November.
The Las Vegas town hall
Harris held a town hall in battleground Nevada hosted by Univision, an American Spanish-language network, to primarily make her case to Latino voters.
And she knocked it out of the park
She hammered home her economic achievements as VP, shared her plan to go after price-gouging corporations (lowering costs), and restore women’s reproductive freedoms in her first 100 days.
She also tackled immigration by reminding the audience that Trump instructed Republicans to torpedo the largest bipartisan border funding bill in US history — and hit Trump for spreading disinformation about FEMA.
At the same time, Barack Obama brought the house down in Pennsylvania for Harris
Last night in Pittsburgh (where I just arrived), Obama laid out why Harris is the better economic choice than Trump.
He noted how she’s overseen the creation of 16 million+ new jobs, manufacturing job growth, several stock market highs, and a record low unemployment rate.
He tore into Trump for falsely taking credit for his economy
Obama reminded the crowd that Trump inherited the booming economy he created, saying: “Yeah, it was pretty good (when Trump took office in 2017) – because it was my economy. It wasn't something he did. I had spent eight years cleaning up the mess that the Republicans had left me the last time.”
Then, he continued with a great line: “So just in case everybody has a hazy memory, he didn’t do nothing except those big tax cuts.”
Correct. Tax cuts that ballooned our national debt by trillions of dollars, and tax cuts he plans to do again in a second term.
Obama also slammed Trump for his ‘inflationary’ tariff proposals
The GOAT told the crowd that Trump’s tariffs would act as a “sales tax” that would cost working families “thousands” — which is true…and is something that if every family knew, they’d likely never vote for Trump.
And in a moment that has now gone viral…
Obama called out Republicans for standing by Trump in the wake of his egregious lies about FEMA and the Biden/Harris administration, saying: “The idea of intentionally trying to deceive people in their most desperate and vulnerable moments…When did that become OK?”
He even called on them to condemn the madness and ripped Trump for calling fallen soldiers ‘suckers and losers’ as well as labeling migrants as ‘vermin.’
In short
It was one helluva speech that packed a punch in a must-win state.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump made a big mess on the battleground trail
Not only did the best orator in American politics drag Trump and his lousy economic track record, but his campaign’s closing message to swing voters is a total disaster:
