Blame Republicans, Not Democrats
Why do Democrats keep getting blamed for problems caused by the GOP?
There are a lot of reasons to be frustrated with Democrats, but in this moment, I don’t see how they could be doing anything differently — legislatively speaking.
They are in the minority in both chambers, they are dominated on the Supreme Court, and they are under the thumb of a psychopathic felon President with no regard for the rule of law.
If people want Democrats to “do something”, more people should have come out to vote for them to give them the legislative power to do something.
Today’s post is not so much an attack on Democratic voters — who have every right to be upset — but more so on the media and the political pundits who have somehow managed to blame Democrats for failing to stop Republicans from gutting Medicaid, slashing food stamps, and exploding the deficit with billionaire tax breaks (and so many more awful things).
Let’s be real
Are Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries wildly uninspiring and ineffective at communicating? Yes.
Does it make any sense why Cory Booker, after delivering a 24-hour speech on the Senate floor, voted to confirm Jared Kushner’s felonious father-in-law to be U.S. Ambassador to France? Absolutely not.
And do I wish Democrats would fight Republicans the way Republicans fought them when they held the majority? You bet I do.
But even then…
At the end of the day, it is the American people who failed to show up in 2024 and give Democrats majorities to block Trump’s dangerous agenda.
Because as feckless as the Dems are, they’re all voting against this ‘Big Heinous Bill’ — and had Dems been in the majority, they would have protected everything Republicans are actively taking away.
I wish more in the media would run with that story, instead of framing what’s happening in America as a failure of the Democratic Party.
Anyhow
I guess if there’s a time to express outrage at the Democrats, it’s better to get it out of the system now than during an election year.
But nevertheless, I hope we can eventually get back to unifying against MAGA — the legitimate enemy of democracy and the American people — instead of fighting amongst ourselves!
P.S. The media is playing a big role in this divide.
Hence why I always say: starve them of their ratings and turn them off.
Stay united. Happy Tuesday, guys!
Great post, Dash. This is what will take them down. I always say, vote them out. Shout louder. Protest longer and turn off your televisions!
It's easier and safer for Media to blame Democrats. They can get away with it, unlike when they blame the real cause for all our current and future suffering, the Repugnants.
