Biden Sees Opportunity To Outmaneuver Trump, A Tech Giant Caves To MAGA
As Joe Biden considers saving TikTok in what could be his final act as President, another big tech company bows to Trump in the most dangerous way yet
In some good news, Biden’s team says it has been ‘exploring options’ to save TikTok from going dark, an app that 170 million Americans use — and some rely on — for income, business, entertainment, and news.
I always felt banning TikTok was a blunder, something that was forced into Biden’s bill as a condition for foreign aid by Republicans — so it’s nice to see him potentially changing course in the final week of his presidency.
Here’s the deal
Trump will get all the credit for saving TikTok if he’s the one who pauses the ban — which will effectively make the 170M American users more inclined to support Rs in ‘26 and ‘28.
In fact, Trump’s National Security advisor said that’s exactly what Trump plans on doing this morning, telling Fox News: “We will put measures in place to keep TikTok from going dark ... it's been a great platform for him and his campaign to get his America First message out.”
For what it’s worth, I use the app to counter America-first messaging!
In my view
It would be ideal if Biden could be the guy to say he saved TikTok instead of Trump — in a time when Democrats desperately need a win — so this is a smart move.
Hopefully Joe gets it done!
Trump pre-purges administration of RINOs and non-loyalists
Trump will tolerate no dissenters this time around, not even in the lower ranks of his administration.
Like a page out of Mao’s playbook, Trump says he will not hire any staffers who have “worked for” or been “endorsed by” Nikki Haley, John Bolton, Mike Pence, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, Mark Milley, James Mattis, Mark Esper, Charles Koch, or the Cheneys.
“Or anyone of the other people suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, more commonly known as ‘TDS.’”
Translation: If you don’t toe the MAGA line and obey his every command, you’re out.
P.S. Nearly all of these names are Trump’s former Cabinet officials that he previously appointed himself.
Guy sure knows how to pick ’em.
Meanwhile, another big tech company is folding for Trump with a policy-shift that spells danger ahead
Not only has seemingly every social media company bent the knee to Trump ahead of his inauguration, but now the latest tech giant has caved with an announcement that could be the most troubling yet:
