Andy Beshear Needs To Grow A Pair And Force Mitch McConnell's Hand
Be the guy we need you to be
If I were Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear I would have already visited the hospital Mitch McConnell is staying at, demanded an in-person visit, demanded he publish a proof-of-life video, and subsequently demanded his immediate resignation for vacating his Senatorial duties for well over a month—despite still getting paid—without explanation.
I then would appoint someone to fill McConnell’s vacant seat and force Republicans to challenge it in court, force McConnell to come out of the hospital where he’s been hiding—or get his office to admit that he’s been dead the whole time.
It’s really that simple.
Right now, there is effectively a corpse of a Senator siphoning tax dollars from the American people, squatting in a Senate seat. And the Democratic Governor isn’t doing much about it, other than sending out tweets and written statements.
You can’t just demand transparency from Republicans on Twitter or in a sternly-worded press conference. You have to force their hand.
(Though, if I’m being real, a dead Mitch McConnell in the Senate is better than an alive Mitch McConnell).
Nevertheless
Beshear needs to grow a pair of balls and do what needs to be done with McConnell. The longer he stalls, the weaker he looks.
If I’m Beshear, I’m showing up to that damned hospital in Kentucky tonight, and making McConnell show his face. Dead or alive.

If he's dead, we'd be able to find the death certificate. Death certificates are public records. A body can't be taken to a funeral home until a death certificate is filed.
I would absolutely force Mitch to show himself. If his staff are knowingly covering up his death, they and their co-conspirators need to be investigated and prosecuted immediately.
