Trump Gives Insane And Desperate Speech At Dallas GOP Convention

Trump gave one of the most insane and desperate speeches any President has ever made during last night’s GOP Midterm convention.

First

Before arriving in Dallas, Trump told reporters that the war with Iran (I guess it’s now a war, not a military conflict), will end after the midterms.

He is basically campaigning (on GOP’s behalf) on ending a war that he started (after he promised to be a president who’d end all wars).

Then, at the convention

Trump said that if Republicans win the midterms, he will cut each American a $5,000 check.

Last time I checked, offering money in exchange for political support is textbook bribery.

Not only is this illegal, but it is also exactly what he promised when campaigning in 2024.

Recall, Trump and Musk vowed to give each American a $5,000 Doge check if Trump won.

Well, he won…and nobody got a check.

He is quite literally running out of scams

And if all that wasn’t bad enough, Trump’s latest posts show a man utterly detached from reality:

John Fetterman was just exposed for engaging in some of the most disgraceful and repugnant behavior of any of the senators.

Dare I say, from both parties.

First

We learned that Fetterman feigned having food poisoning to blow off a scheduled-meeting with paralyzed military veterans from Pennsylvania—in order to instead make an appearance on Fox News to discuss Israel.

According to the Wall Street Journal, there were three paralyzed military veterans in wheelchairs from Pennsylvania who had a long-awaited meeting on the books with Fetterman to talk about legislation to improve their care.

But then, at the last minute, Fetterman said he could not attend this meeting, telling his staff that he felt sick from eating ‘bad food.’

So his staff took the meeting on his behalf.

Then, less than an hour after the meeting wrapped, Fetterman rolled into his office with ‘no signs of illness’ and told his staff he needed to make it on time for an ‘appointment’; which would end up being an appearance on Fox News to discuss Israel and the war in Iran.

Priorities, priorities.

It gets worse

The Wall Street Journal also obtained a series of text messages between Fetterman and one of his aides.

These texts make Fetterman appear to be a straight-up monster:

Donald Trump’s supporters are now revolting against him on Truth Social after he came out in strong support for constructing data centers in local communities.

In a completely detached-from-reality post this morning, Trump defended data centers and implied that communities should welcome the construction of them in their neighborhoods.

“The only reason that communities throughout the U.S.A. should not want Data Centers is if they want to end up being backwards and poor. If they want to be successful and rich…let Data Reign…If we kill the Golden Goose, you will only have yourselves to blame.”

Evidently, his condescending post and praise for data centers did not sit well with MAGAs:

Donald Trump continues to decimate America’s economic standing by destroying relationships with our trading partners that may be impossible to repair—even after he’s gone.

For context

Over the weekend, Canada suspended trade negotiations with America after Trump acted in bad-faith and tried to make last-minute changes to the terms of their deal.

In a shocking statement, Canadian PM Mark Carney announced that he was officially walking away from the negotiating table with Trump after 18 months of trying to get a fair deal in the works for both countries. Carney said America tried to make “last-minute” changes that he deemed to be “unfair”, “uneconomic”, and “threw into question the reliability” of ever reaching a deal with the US.

Sounds pretty on-brand for Trump.

Then

At the end of Carney’s statement, he wrote that “America has changed", and then went on to talk about how this will actually be good for Canada in the long term, citing how Canada has been creating “4x as many jobs” as America, how their non-US exports are set to “double” in the coming decade, and about how they have been attracting the “most foreign investment” of any G7 country.

It sounded like Carney was truly envisioning a reality in which Canada no longer relies on trade with America…something that should have made Trump realize he had no leverage to pull against the Prime Minister.

But instead of bringing Canada back to the negotiating table like a good President would, Trump dug himself—and America—a deeper hole:

Republicans spent the entirety of yesterday berating Dr. Anthony Fauci, an 85-year-old public servant who dedicated more than fifty years of his life to science and life-saving medical research.

And as ugly and unethical and despicable as the hearing was, I cynically understood the political reason behind Republicans’ decision to hold that hearing in the first place.

They put Fauci on trial to remind America of what life was like during COVID in an attempt to distract Americans from the reality they have created for us—where there is sky-high inflation, new wars, unstable financial markets, unaffordable housing and healthcare, all in a country controlled exclusively by Republicans in every branch of government.

As gross as the Fauci hearing was, do you see how it is now being discussed everywhere in the media, drawing attention away from all of the aforementioned problems I’ve bolded above?

GOP objective accomplished.

Republicans understand that in order to win elections, controlling the narrative is more important than delivering for the American people

Republicans are solely focused on winning races and maintaining power, more than they are improving the lives of everyday Americans. It’s their most detestable quality as public servants. But it’s their most effective quality as politicians, and it’s where they are far superior to Democrats—a party whose policies aim to improve the lives of Americans, but a party that is utterly incapable of controlling the narrative.

Republicans can fail on healthcare, fail to lower prices at the pump, fail to bring down grocery costs, fail to deliver on human rights, fail on addressing climate change, fail on foreign policy, can cause recessions—which they have virtually every time they’ve gotten into power—yet they always reclaim power because they are better at saying whatever needs to be said, and doing whatever needs to be done to win elections.
